provided within the amount offered by the Colony.
My Lords rely on the Board of Admiralty to make every
effort to see that this condition is fulfilled.
In reply I am to request you to inform the
Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty that, subject to the assent of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, the Secretary of State for the Colonies and the Army Council (to all of whom a copy of this letter is being sent) My Lords authorise the acceptance of the Governor's offer on the understandings:-

that the scheme is independent of any similar
proposals which may be made in regard to Army accommodation;
that when detailed plans and estimates have been worked out Their Lordships' authority will be sought for the total estimate for reproviding the accommodation on Stonecutters Island;
that the Colony will arrive at a satisfactory
settlement of the question of the R.N. Canteen.
