THE SILVER OUTLOOK

HONG KONG BANK CHAIRMAN'S VIEW

(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT)

HONG-KONG, FEB. 23

At the annual meeting of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation on Satur- day the chairman, Mr. W. H. Bell, predicted a continuance of the fall in the price of silver and a further falling off in British exports to the Far East. He deplored the adverse effect of the Chinese civil wars on trade.

Mr. Bell announced that the chief manager of the bank, Mr. A. C. Hynes, had resigned, and that Mr. V. M. Grayburn had been pro- visionally appointed as his successor.
