10. Working Hours.
A day consists of nine and a half (93) hours of fair and honest work, but as soon as the temperature reaches 100 F. nine (9) hours only shall be worked.
Whenever the nature of the work permits the labourer will be employed on daily piece work, and in such case he shall be entitled to a whole day's wage for each daily piece work completed, notwithstanding that he shall not have worked for the full number of working hours, and shall be free to work for himself after the completion of his daily piece work.
11. Holidays.
The labourer shall not in the usual case be required to work on a Sunday or on any of the ten (10) Chinese Holidays to be appointed by the Administrator, but may do so if he so desires and the employer agrees and shall be entitled to wages at the usual rate if he does so. He may, however, be required to work on a Sunday or holiday if he is attending cattle or if there is other urgent necessity, and in such case the labourer shall receive pay at overtime rates.
12. Rations.
The labourer shall provide his own food and facilites shall be given to enable the labourer to purchase not more than fifty (50) lbs, of rice per month of a quality approved by the Chief Medical Officer, at a cost not exceeding three (3)pence per lb., and fifteen (15) lbs. of meat per month at a Price not exceeding six (6)pence per ld.
13. Leave of Absence.
If the labourer intends to be absent for purposes of his own from the place. of his employment, he must report his proposed absence to his employer and obtain consent before leaving.
The labourer shall not be entitled to absent himself for his own purposes from his place of employment, for more than one working day in any one month without the special consent of the employer or the Commissioner.
If he intends to apply to the Commissioner to be appointed to another employer, he shall give the employer at least seven (7) clear days notice of such his intention,
14. Compensation.
If the labourer is incapacited or fatally injured from causes arising out of or directly attributable to his employment, the sum of thirty (30) pounds will be paid to his relations as compensation.
In all cases of death the deceased will be properly enshrouded, encoffined and interred.
15. Medical Examination.
Before leaving China every labourer must undergo a medical examination to show that he is fit to carry out the work he has agreed to do.
16. Term of Service Extended or Reduced.
The term of service provided for in paragraph one hereof may be reduced or extended by such period not exceeding six (6) months as may be necessary to synchronise the expiry of such term with the departure of a transport for China.
17. Statute Law.
The labourer will be subject to the statute law of the Territory of Western Samoa.
18. Interpretation of Regulations.
In the interpretation of these regulations only the English text will be followed.

(七)(到匯犘後僱工) 工人到薩犘後工務長當即派各工人往工主處作工如工人欲擇某工主 若能派得者應照工人心意派往某工至處工人在某王王處僱工時欲自己辭職往新工主處 操作如係其辭職理由-
足者工務長當准其遷調別工
(八)(華人慈善款) 毎工人每星期納六個片士爲華人慈善費此款用以助下列各經費
(甲) 支工人醫費有病工人無論在醫院留醫或不留惴均免將費
(乙) 支遠年有病工人之養育費
(丙) 支修理華人公眾墳場之需費幷別項慈善費
