Dear Dr. Morgan,
ว
43
15th August, 1937.
You will recollect asking questions in the
House of Commons on the 2nd and 5th December last about
orphanages in Hong Kong and that Dr.Shiels' answer was an
undertaking to obtain the desired information from the
Governor.
Dr. Shiels now asks me to send you a copy of
the Governor's report on the subject.
Though not strictly relevant to your questions
about orphanages, it is thought that you will be interested
and pleased to hear of the recent formation in Hong Kong of
a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, if you
are not already aware of its existence: accordingly I send
you also a copy of the press notice reporting the
inauguration of the society.
Yours very truly,
(Sgd.) K. W. CLAXTER,
Private Secretary.
H.B. Morgan, Esq., M.B., Cn.B., M.P.
