sir,
COPY OF LETTER SENT TO THE CAPTAIN SUPERINTENDENT
OF POLICE, HONGKONG, DATED 12TH APRIL, 1929.
YOUR REF: NO. 4 IN C.P.0.5/1929.

"RAY" REFLECTIVE SIGNS.
We have the honour to refer to previous correspondence in connection with the above mentioned subject, and as we will shortly be in a position to manufacture these signs, we have the pleasure to offer to make a few "direction" signs for your department, free of charge.
We take the liberty of enclosing a photograph, taken in England, which shows one of these signs conveniently erected to the particular benefit of motorists, and we believe you will agree that in view of the increasing motor traffic such signs would be much appreciated by the motoring public, especially by those who are not fully aware of the various locations in the Colony.
There may be several points in Hongkong and Kowloon where such "direction" signs would be of considerable value to motorists, and if our offer is of interest we shall be very glad indeed to have your advice. We could, if desired, make up the se signs both in English and Chine se.
In further reference to the "RAY" Reflective Signs we shall be greatly obliged if you can kindly advise us of any regulations in connection with the erection and display of road signs.
If we can be of any assistance to your department in the matter of reflective signs, we shall be very happy to be at your service.
We have the honour to be,
sir,
Your obedient servants,
For, DAVIE, BOAG & CO.,LTD.,
