RAY REFLECTIVE SIGNS.
We have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your kind favour of the 14th inst., in reference to the above subject, and regret very much to note that you are not interested in the Ray Reflective Signs at present.
With reference to the two sample signs sent to you for your kind approval, we note that these have not as yet been erected, as it has not been found expedient to change the system of traffic controls in use at present. In asking that these two signs oe erected for road service, we did not mean that they should be erected permanently, but rather for temporary road service, as a trial. We suggest that they be kept in the interval pending the possibility of same being erected at some later date as a test.
We observe that the existing traffic signs
are all being fitted with "Reflectors", and in this connection we would advise that we have seen a few controls fitted with same during the past week. While we have no desire to criticise the quality of these "Reflectors", we. venture to suggest that they are not so efficient as the Ray,Reflective Lenses, and in order to place before you the manufacturers points of view, together with a few unsolicited testimonials, we beg to enclose herewith a pan phlet which weare sure you will find interesting, and we draw your particular attention to page 10 of the pamphlet.
The offer we in de you in our letter of the 4th inst., in connection with the fitting of the existing traffic signs with Ray Lenses, is still open and if further consideration can be given to same at some later date, we shall be very pleased indeed to have your advice.
We are very sorry indeed that you cannot at the present time favour the Ray Signs, but if in the near future the view expressed can be modified, we shall be very happy to be at your service.
