It was decided by the Cabinet in March, 1929, that shipping companies should be informed that anti-piracy guards would cease in one year's time, after which the responsibility for protection would devolve upon the shipping companies
themselves.
Military anti-piracy guards will therefore be withdrawn with effect from 1st April, 1930, in accordance
with Cabinet decision.
