HONG KONG-CHINA TRADE AND
THE ANGLO-CHINHOS CUSTOMS AGREMMENT 6 HONG KONG,
The Government of the Republic of China and the
Government of the Colony of Hong Kong being mutually
desirous of safeguarding the revenue of the Chinese
Maritime Customs and of securing reciprocal benefits of
trade and commerce have authorised the undersigned to
conclude the following agreement.
ARTICLE I.
Junk means any sea-going sailing vessel of Chinese or other asiatic build, construction, anu rig.
For the better regulation of junka in the waters the Colony
Hong Kong of Hong Kong the Government of that soleny undertakes
that:-
(a) All junks shall be licensed either as trading or
as fishing junks, and no junk shell be rented
• licence in both classes at the same time. A
fishing junk shall not be employed for any
purpose other than fishing.
(b) The proper Hong Kong authorities shall supply
every junk with a certificate of registration
in the form of a licence book.

Provided that in special cases the proper Hong Kong authorities may, after notice to the Chinese Maritime Customs, allow a junk to leave a port in the Colony at any specified hour or between any specified hours.
(d) Junks shall have their certificate number sudly
marked on their hulls in such a manner as the
proper Hong Kong authorities may direct.
Supervision shall be exercised by the proper Hong Kong authorities
