acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 19th June regarding the proposed Customs Agreesent between the Chinese authorities and the Government of lone
Kong, and to inform you that your views on the
subject have been noted.
2. The secretary of state is aware of the importance of this question, and so is glad to be able to inform you that the Goverment of Hong Kong are actively engaged in endeavouring to work out a solene of -operation in preventing
angeling, which will be acceptable to all concerned.
