My Dear Bowyer,
COL
OFFICE
You will remember that I told you on the 'phone that the computer who was engaged on the computation of the geographical coordinates of the adjusted Hong Kong triangulation had found a rather serious error in one of the figures. Having readjusted this Western figure,
I found another bad error.
This double work took a long time, over 10 days, and I have not sent the corrected results until the computer signalled all clear, since the computation of the coordinates provides a final check worth having before forwarding the work abroad.
-
I am sending you the usual 11 copies of the Western Figure and take it that you will advise Hong Kong that this is to replace the former incorrect adjustment. Had they been working in the locality covered, they should have found the errors themselves.
