with reference to your letter No. 487 dated 6th.

September 1929, I have the honour to inform you that the

claim made by your Section for the suspension of tra fie

from 1928 to date have already been referred to the Ministry

of Railways for consideration as you are aware that any

claims for suspension of tra fie involved as caused through

Political disturbances, is a matter of settlement between

tne two respøetiye Governments and this Section cannot

accept liability in the circumstances therefore.

With regard to the hire of Rolling Stock amounts

to $5,354.79 this matter is being left in abeyance until

after farther consultation with Er. Stratton on his return

from furlough.

Under the circumstances, I shall be glad if you

will kindly reconsider the matter and send us a cheque for

$20,000.00 in due course to meet the argent payments of this

Section.
