in June 1989 decided to appropriate two-thids
of all Boxer Indemnity funds for Railway
construction. Eevertheless the Feiping
Universities continue to got 350,000 &
month from the Russian Boxer Indemnity Fund
and nothing is left for the completion of
the Lung-Hai Railway for hich these funda
had been earmarked.
6. Áð regūrās railway debts (proposal 3)
the figure of 1559,000,000 is given as
being the total amount owing. Readjustment
is urged as in view of the many and various
loan agreements it is at present impossible
to ascertain the actual financial condition
of the railways.
7. The article continues by referring to
the floatation of a loan of twenty million
dollars wobkh of bonds, which are to be
issued on April 1st, 1930, to take on the
Canton-Hankow Railway from private interests.
Figures are then given to show the revenue
collected on various railways in 1929 and
the increases over the previous year. Bo
decreases are shown and the increaseD
range from over six million dollars on the
Tientsin-Pukow ftallway and two million
dollars on the Hanking-Shanghai Railway
down to $200,000 on the Canton-Kowloon
Railway. Finally the Hulutao Fort devel-
opment scheme is mentioned.
