Additional Transmitting Block and Mast at Cape D'Aguilar W/T Station, $20,000.-Under Head 31 S/II. 4 and 5 of the 1929 Estimates and referred to on page 1 of notes on works provided in the 1929 draft Esti- mates, provision is made for the erection of two blocks of quarters for W/T operators, but, after exhaustive tests it is found that Cape D'Aguilar Station is more efficient for long wave working, and, it is therefore proposed to confine the Peak Station to short wave working with China and Broad- casting, without these additional buildings, and to erect at Cape D'Aguilar one more transmitting Block and mast for long wave transmitting.

New No. 2 Police Station, $200,000.—As explained on page 1 under S/H: 8 of notes on works provided in the 1929 P.W.E. Estimates, this station is to replace the present No. 2 Police Station-an estimate of $300,000 representing the cost of this work is given in the 1929 Estimates under H. 31 S/H. 8 page 81; the Hon. C.S.P. has, however, since request- ed further accommodation, which has increased the cost to $400,000-The revised scheme was submitted and approved by the Public Works Com- mittee on 2.5.29 Owing to changes in the design and to shortage of staff very little progress can be made with this work during the current year.

Sai Ying Pun New Market, $200,000.—This work is referred to under S/H. 15 on page 1 of notes on the works provided in the 1929 P.W.E. Estimates Owing to shortage of staff and pressure of other work very little progress can be made during the current year.

Victoria Gaol, New Printing Shop, $85,000.-The original scheme for $41,000 was abandoned and a new scheme was prepared estimated at #100,000, of which provision for $85,000 will be required to complete the work in 1930.

Junction of Ladder Street and Hollywood Road-Underground latrine (60 seats) $17,000.--It was not possible to commence this work in 1928 owing to difficulties of finding a suitable site, and as the work could only be started late in 1929 a provision of $17,000 will be required in 1930.

Spring Garden Lane and Cross Street Latrine and Urinal (54 seats), $2,000. The vote only provides for retention money as it is hoped to complete the work in 1929.

Sai Wan Ho-Increase of Pig Lairage, $500. The vote only provides for retention money as it is hoped to complete the work in 1929

Latrine and Bathhouse on Praya East, $25,000.-Additional accom- modation in this district is badly needed.

Latrine and Urinal at Rock Hill Street (30 seats), $10,000.—Addi- tional accommodation in this district is badly needed..

Latrine at Aberdeen (16 seats,) $7,000.-Accommodation in this dis- trict is badly needed.

Alterations to Belilios School-Conversion of two rooms into one, $3,800.—To provide one large room where lectures and demonstrations can be given.
