GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG, 6th September, 1929.
I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that
a bill (copy enclosed) intituled "An Ordinance to apply a
sun not exceeding Twenty-two million and thirty-eight
thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine Dollars to the Public
Service of the year 1930" was introduced to the Legislative
Council and read a first time yesterday.

delivered to the Legislative Council on this occasion on the

Colonial Treasurer on Revenue and a memorandum by the
Director of Public Jorks explaining the items under the Head,
Public Works Extraordinary. I also enclose copies of the
draft Estimates for 1950.

It is proposed to take the remaining stages
of the bill on the 19th of September, 1929.

Secretary's speeches introducing four motions on the subject
