Engures whether advance of £80
could be made.
The minutes and correspondence about the
advance of £100 which Mrs. Longinotto is now
repaying are on 54363/25.
In 1926 she applied for
a further loan which was refused (see Nos.4 and 5 on
CF.5183/26). An application for a smaller advance
was refused in 1927 (see minutes on 30079/27).
The objections to granting an advance set out in
Mr. Clutterbuck's minute of the 5th of October, 1926
on CF.5183/26 apply equally strongly to the present
application. When I saw Mrs. Longinotto I formed
the impression that she was the kind of person who
would be perpetually in financial difficulties,
and if we grant this advance to pay present debts
now, it is unlikely that she will have repaid it
before the need arises for further advances.
? reply regretting that it is not possible
to make any further advance.
