With reference to your letter of the 30th
April, I am directed by Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain
to state that the measures adopted by the Government
of Hongkong with regard to the institution designated
"mui-taal” are outside his jurisdiction. He has
therefore sent a copy of your letter to the Colonial
Office, to which department any further communication
should be addressed.
