the letter from this Department
of the 17th September last
relative to the alleged case
of cruelty to a lui Tsai
reported in the "South China
Morning Post" of the 29th
March, 1929, and to inform
you that a despatch has been
received from the Governor
reporting
of Hong Kong stating that
the reason for non-prosecution
in the matter of the
acquisition of the girl in
question lies in the fact
that attention was concentrated
on the charge of cruelty and that
