The following is for the Treasury Solicitor London from Hastings Denny and Bowley begins:- Your telegram of 18th

December Suitai Owners estimate the value at £5000. Value

of tugs known to the Admiralty. Suitai was alongside the wharf Fire Brigade operating from the shore and one fire float alongside. Superintendent of the Fire Brigade states that

the fire could have been subdued without the assistance of the

Naval tugs which were not expressly invited to assist tugs

employed 3 hours risk small. Owners offer to pay out-of-

pocket only we think amount awarded would be small but pro-

ceedings might force the payment into Court letter follows.
