It was in these conditions that the
episode of the "Irene" cocurred. The feats of
the osse are as follows:-
On October 19th, 1988
whilst on the high seas on a voyage from shanghai
to smoy, the "Irene" was seized by pirates who
had embarked under the guise of peaceful
passengers.
The ship's officers were overpowere
and the ship's course was altered to Bias Bay.
While the Tessel was in the hands of the pirates
a Chinese cabin boy was shot through the ahest
in the course of promiscuous firing to intimidat
the passengers.
At about 9 p.m. on October
20th H..submarine L.4, which was stationed at
the entrance to Bins Bay in accordance with the
suggestion made, as otated above, by kr. Chen,
sighted
