I have the honour to address to you the follow-
ing reply to the lote which you were good enough
to addreas to me on Janu.ry törd last on the
subject of the sinking of the 8.s. "Irane" in
Bias Bay on Datober 20th, 1927.

that Your Excellency's predecessor addressed to
te a lote on the subject on December 22nd, 1927
to which no reply had been received. Ris

returned to kr. C.d.Pa's Note, which they pre-
ferred not to regard as seriously intended, and
they cannot refrain from expressing their regret
that Your Excellency should have seen fit not
only to revive the claim for compensation made
