My Lord,
With reference to Your Lordship's despatch
No. 163 of the 4th of July, on the subject of the
Tai Koo Sugar Refining Company, Limited, I have
the honour to point out that Messrs. Burchells'
own charges in this matter appear, on the materials
at present before my advisers, to be rather high in
view of the fact that the case was fully drawn by the
Crown Solicitor here.

My advisers expected to receive the
original signed opinion of counsel and also the other
papers charged for in the bill. I must at least
ask that a copy of the case drawn by Messrs. Burchells
be forwarded to me.
