Enclosure No.1.

Report on Wireless Telegraphy
at Hong Kong
with Recommendations and Estimates.
In submitting this report I wish to draw
attention in the first place to the following details
of expenditure already incurred, my object in doing
this is to enable Government to realise that the
suggestion often made that any expenditure incurred is
liable to have to be quickly written off owing to the
plant becoming obsolete at an early date, is apt to be
overstressed.
2. As near as can be approximated the expenditure
already incurred in connection with D'Aguilar Station
was up to:-
From 1914 to 1926.
1927

3.
As will be seen the proportion of expenditure to which such an argument could be applied, (b) is about 40% and analysing this proportion again it can be taken that of this 40% one half represents power plant which
is capable of being retained in use for supplying new
forms of transmitters.
