The Society are in error in saying that

the Governor of Hong Kong was asked to furnish
reports on the working of the Ordinance.
happened was that about a year after the Ordinance
came into force. the Society asked that a report
on its working up to date might be obtained.
This was asked for, and when received, copy of the report was sent to them. No suggestion was made,
however, that any further reports should be
supplied.
? send them a copy of Ordinance No.1 of
1923, explaining the circumstances in which the
reports sent to them in 1924 were made, and say
that no further reports have been called for or
received:
and send copy correspondence to Hong Kong
saying that the Secretary of State will be glad
to receive a further report on the working of the
Ordinance (I do not think we need tell the Society
we are asking for this but it will be useful to
have if they are going to revive their interest in
the matter).
