is a man to be reckoned with because he is fanatical in

his political beliefs; he has made a close study of the recent histories of Russia and Turkey; he is a great

admirer of the makers of present day Turkey; and his

ambition for position and power is boundless, while his

desire for money is not known to be great. Such a man

devoting his talents to working for violent changes of the

existing order of things is a distinct danger to the

coutry.

Besides Chan Kung-pok the Leftists have more

talents than the Rightists. Even now there are many

Leftists serving in the Government in the higher positions.

Look at T.V. Soong who was at one time the trusted servant

of Borodin, and who is now in charge of the country's

finances.

There are other men holding positions not

only in Nanking but in all the provinces, who not long ago were regarded as extremists in the political world.

affair condemn, and rightly, Chiang Kai-shek for having married Soong Mei-ling in the circumstances known to the world. Chiang is not such a fool as to incur the odium, which he knew to be inevitablem of divorcing his wife

"to marry a little pretty face". He realised his own position which had never been secure, and he accordingly married into a family whose principal members, such as the second Mrs. Sun Yat-sen and T.V. Soong, are inclined
