Sir,
Enclosure No.1.
Translation.
No.493/29.
25
When I was in Wuhan great friendship existed between
me and the people of your country. I have now safely reached Hong Kong under the careful protection of the British
Authorities and gun-boats, and I am very grateful for this.
I desired to call on you to express my thanks personally,
but as I have just arrived and know that you must be very
busy, I do not venture to bother you.
I write you this specially, and hope that our
friendship will ever improve, and that we shall have many opportunities for friendly meetings.
With best regards,
(Sa) Wu Chung Tok.
(Dated) 8th May of the 18th year of the Chinese Repulic (1929)
To:- H.E. Sir C. Clementi, the Governor.
