3. I accordingly recommend that a suitably
qualified officer be appointed on the same scale
as that of the 1st Assistant Auditor viz. £650 to
£900 by £50 annually with the title of 2nd Assistant
Auditor, and that Mr. Bradley, the present 2nd Assistant Auditor who has only three years' experience, should remain on his present scale of salary with the
title of 3rd Assistant Auditor.
4. You will no doubt consider the advisability
of filling the post of 2nd Assistant by transfer from
within the Colonial Audit Service. In any case I shall be glad, should you sanction my proposal, if a suitable officer may be appointed as soon as possible. There should be sufficient savings under Personal
Emoluments, Audit Department, to cover his salary this year and due provision will be made in the
Estimates for 1929.
