New University Club,

St. James's Street, S.W.1.

9th August, 1928.

My dear Ainsworth,

Herewith a copy of a letter which I have

written to Braine-Hartnell. You kindly agreed to

arrange for his medical examination. Would you do this

as soon as you get the cable from the Hong Kong

confirming the appointment, or even earlier. We do

want this young man as soon as possible and he seems

to have nothing particular to do here. If he could

leave before the end of this month, so much the better,

but he should not leave later than the beginning of

September.

{

I am af

afted that the information that I gave

about the post was rather vague and I rather think that

I understated the terms. You might send hit copy of the circular setting out the terms. They are precisely the same as those on which Trayes was recruited.

We should like the biology man as soon as

1.
