3. The first contract of tiree years' service

does not carry the right to long leave, but upon

renewal of the contract the time slready served

counts for long leave in the future. So far as the

exigencies of the service permit the long leve

grouted (which is on full sterling pay) approximates

to 9 months (in which a long vocation is included)

after four mnd a half yearɛ' actual servico. Free

passages are at present aid in the case of officers

proceeding on and returning from leave.

There is a general age limit for retire-

ment of 60 years. A nember of the University staff

scrving on a permanent contract may retire at wy

time on giving aix months' potico.

In other respects your appointment will

be subject to the general regulations of the University,liable to alteration from time to time

by the University Council.

Advisers to this Department whose asces are given or
