An Ordinance to amend the Dangerous Drugs
Ordinance, 1923.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Dangerous Short title. Drugs Amendment Ordinance, 1928.
2. Paragraph (a) of section 2 (1) of the Dangerous Amendment Drugs Ordinance, 1923, is repealed and the following of Ordinance paragraph is substituted therefor :—

(a) "To export" means to carry or other- s. 2 (1) (a). wise despatch out of the Colony or to cause to be carried or otherwise despatched out of the Colony and includes the conveyance of things out of the Colony by transit mail or any other mail and the carriage out of the Colony of things which were carried into the Colony by water or by air and which are carried out of the Colony on the same ship or aircraft on which they are carried into the Colony with or without any landing or transhipment.
3. Paragraph (b) of section 2 (1) of the Dangerous Amendment Drugs Ordinance, 1923, is repealed and the following of Ordinance

(b) "To import " means to carry or other- s. 2 (1) (7). wise bring into the Colony or to cause to be carried or otherwise brought into the Colony and includes the conveyance of things into the Colony by transit mail or any other mail and the carriage by water or by air into the Colony of things which are intended to be carried out of the Colony on the same ship or aircraft on which they were carried into the Colony with or without any landing or tran- shipment.
4. Section 2 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Amendment 1923, is amended by the addition of the following defini- of Ordinance tions at the end thereof :-

(f) "Coca leaves means the leaves of any Geo. 5, c. 74, plant of the genus of the erythroxylaccac from which cocaine can be extracted either directly or by chemical transformation.
