Sub-head 148. Levelling strip of land now occupied by Railway, Sha Tau Kok $5,000.— This is situated on the British side of the frontier and is necessary to provide parking space for the motor traffic that has sprung up since the railway ceased to operate.

149. Forming and surfacing street in front of D.D.C. Lot 827 C. & D. and 828 C $2,000.-This property is on the out-skirts of Tai Po Market, it has been developed and it is now necessary to provide the access road, which requires considerable filling owing to the formation levels being consider- ably higher than the natural ground.
150. Magnetic Huts lu Tau-fencing $1,600.--This is considered necessary by the Director of the Observatory in order to prevent trespassing near the huts.
PUBLIC HEALTH AND BUILDINGS ORDINANCE.
151. Compensation and Resumptions $5,000-This sum is included in the Estimates to provide for general small compensations and resumptions that may be found necessary or desirable during 1929.
