I am directed by the Secretary of State for India to
transmit copy of a letter received from the Government of
India regarding an application from Mr. Georg Ludvig Rode,
Dated 1st March 1928, and enclosures. Norwegian subject, for a
certificate of naturalization as a British subject, under the British Nationality and Status of Aliens Act, 1914.
It would appear from the report signed by the Commissioner of Police, Bombay, that Mr. Rode stated that

he applied for, but was refused a certificate of naturalization in Hong Kong in 1925. The Earl of Birkenhead would be glad if he could be supplied with any information available regarding the application referred to.
The applicant states that he is at present employed on the S.S. "Tungistan", a vessel owned by Mr.H.M.H. Nema zee.
