2. While Mr. Amery is unable to accefit
accede to the views of the Board
of Trade on the question of the
issue of licences for motor omnibuses,
he is making enquiry of the Officer
Administering the Government of
Hong Kong as to the possibility
of achieving the desired end of
giving preference to vehicles of
British manufacture by means less
rise to likely to give/representations
from interested foreign powers.

Officer Administering the Government

As regards the question of

the
insurance, Mr. Amery feels
reasons given in the letter from
this Department of the 12th of April
to the Board of Trade, that the
objection raised by the United States
Embassy
