With reference to the forged cheques an the
Treasury, I should be glad to know if action is being
taken to get the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking
Corporation to reinstate the amount which they have
debited the Government, on account of the three cheques
in question. If action is to be taken it should be
done without further delay and the Crown Solicitor
should receive instructions accordingly.
I am satisfied that the signatures purporting
to be mine are forgeries, and I also consider that the
evidence of such is, apart from my word, conclusive.
