Sir,
With reference to my confidential
despatch (3) dated 10th August, 1928, enclosing
copies of the Report of the Committee appointed to
enquire into certain irregularities and defalcations
which had taken place in certain Government
Departments, I have the honour to inform you that
consequent upon certain of the findings of that
Committee I appointed a further Committee
consisting of the Chief Justice, Sir H. Gollan,
Chairman, Mr. S.B.B.McElderry and Mr. T.M. Hazlerigg,
1.C., to consider and make recommendations upon
the additions and/or alterations in the personnel
of Government Departments necessary to ensure
financial efficiency.
2.
This Committee have now submitted their
Report, a copy of which I enclose.
