leave.
"The General Orders of the
Colony relating to such leave" must be the
General Orders of the Colony relating to
the officers now under discussion, namely,
temporary staff, and the General Orders
relating to temporary staff provide that
such staff are not entitled to
any leave
of absence unless it is so stated
specifically in their agreement. In
this case it is so stated specifically in
the agreement, and the effect appears to
make them entitled to the leave
which under General Order 147 would only
be granted in exceptional circumstances
in cases where the right to it had not
been specifically conferred by the contract.
The result, therefore, is that an officer
holding such a letter of appointment as i mentioned
has a right to the vacation leave mentioned
in General Order 147.
