GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG. 20th August, 1928.
Sir,
With reference to recent telegraphic
12 correspondence ending with my telegram of 10th August,
1928, regarding the water supply of the Colony, I have
the honour to enclose for your information copy of
remarks made by me at a meeting of the Legislative
Council on 2nd August on the subject of the water shortage
which was giving rise to much anxiety in the minds of
the inhabitants of Hong Kong.
2. After an unusual period of drought relief was
fortunately obtained by a heavy rainfall on 5th August
followed by further rains which enabled unrestricted
supply to be resumed on 9th August.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient humble servant,
Cod. Southoch.
