The Secretary,

Sir,

I am commanded by the Air Council to forward,

the for the information of Mr. Secretary Amery, attached copies of telegrams which have passed between Group Captain E.D.M. Robertson, D.F.C., the Air Officer Commanding the Royal Air Force in Hong Kong, and the Air Ministry on the subject of providing technical advice on the subject of the layout of the Kalnak aerodrome, and to confirm that it is not possible to spare Mr. C.E.O. Wood, the civil engineer in charge of the construction of the Royal Air Force aerodrome at Singapore, to undertake this duty.

I am, however, to state that it has been ascertained that Mr. H.E. Oakley, late Deputy Director of Works in the Air Ministry Works and Buildings Directorate, who was superannuated on 1st February last at the age of 62 years and who is eminently suited to undertake the service, would be willing to accept the appointment if offered.

I am to add that Mr. Oakley's address is: -
