Seizure of Drugs in Macao.

The Secretary-General has the honour to
circulate the attached report for the information of the
States Members of the League, the Parties to the Hague
Convention of 1912 and the members of the Advisory
Committee on Traffic in Opium and other Dangerous Drugs.

1. On October 20th, 1927, the Inspectors of Customs and
Excise at Macao, having been notified of the presence of a
suspected lorcha (small Chinese vessel) east of the island
Several parcels of Coloane, took possession of the boat.
were found, in the form of boxes containing 80,120 taels
of raw opium, of which 11,562 taels were Indian and
68,563 Persian opium.
The presence of these boxes on board the vessel
constituted an infringement of the General Opium
Regulations of June 30th, 1917, and they were therefore
immediately seized.
