What amount of time did the First Bailiff

spend in the office?

Hill worked overtime regularly for years. He would be in the office about four hours a day. Latterly he has been outside a lot owing to the number of seizures. I should say his time would be spent half in the office

and half out.

I have not got a complete list yet. There are about thirty more to do. I thought you wanted the complete list.

Are there any departmental rules detailing the duties of the officers of the Supreme Court?

No. Everybody had their own work. When a

new man came I explained what his work was to him. There is no recent written detail of duties.

Is there any record kept of letters arriving at the Registry?

No. There is no correspondence register.

Letters would go to the person concerned and then be

filed in the relevant file. I do not as a matter of

routine answer every letter. I generally speak to the
