What was the practice formerly?
Hughes & Hugh sent to the Registrar or to the
shroff. All I got was the account sales from the shroff. I should ask him if he had the cheque and should post to my book.
This was a very old custom. I think then cheques came to the Registrar first and then went to the shroff.
I never saw what the Auctioneering & Brokering Co. did and never saw one of their account sales. I should
be in Court a lot. It is quite possible that they may have done as Hughes and Hough did. No cheques ever came addressed to me.
Are you aware of any account sales and cheques having been sent addressed to the First Baliliff?
I never saw a cheque come in from the time I returned from leave (two years ago) till 27th August, 1926, the first sale by Lammert.
Do the First Bailiff's duties take him out of
the office to any extent during office hours?
They should if you had time to go to supervise watchmen, attend sales &c.

Are you aware of the receipt of such complaints by other officers of the Court either verbally or by letter?

I did not see any
