Never without consulting 0.A. Mostly
it was sent to relatives. There were very few
orders for sale.
Q:65
Were such sales advertized?
A:65
Yes. Copy advertisement would be
attached to the account sales.
Q:66
Did you attend the sales?
A:66
127
Yes. The effects would be sent to the
sale Room on the night before sale in looked boxes of which I held the keys. I attended before sale and saw the contents turned out in the auction room. If there was any jewellery I took charge of it and brought it back here. The effects would be sent to the auction room without check. Sometimes there would be sent to us lists showing the items in detail.
I have a lot of jewellery in my safe. The packages are marked with the names of the late owners, the relatives haven't been traced.
I do not remember any sales of jewellery
by the Auctioneering and Brokering Co. I attended sales whenever jewellery was to be sold.
