Translation of letter from Commissioner for Foreign Affairs
to H.k. Consul-General, Shanghai.

I have received the following telegram dated December 20th from the Ministry for Foreign
Affairs of the Nationalist devernment!-
"Seven pirates implicated in the "Irene'
case have been sentenced to death by the
Hongkong Court. Please at once write to
H.M. Consul General and sak him to request
the Hongkon Government to postpone execution.
Despatch follows."
I have accordingly to request that you will
without delay comunicate with the Hongkong Government
in the desired sense.
