recovered and taken on board the Tean, except the
Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and another hostage and
the recovered loot which were brought to Hong Kong by
the Customs Cruiser "Yeung Shing". One of the hostages

a Chinese who had returned from Australia was found
dead at the foot of the cliff over which he had fallen
or was pushed over by the pirates.
The Cruiser also landed men who searched for the
pirates but I have no further information on this point.
The Cruiser Storm also came on the scene after the
pirates had landed.
The pirated vessel arrived in the harbour and berthed Holts Wharf at 7 p.m. on 28/5/28. A large number
of European and Chinese boarded the ship and instituted
investigations which were concluded at midnight. We have
been unable to find any evidence in support of possible
collusion between the ship's crew or passengers and the
pirates. The Police withdrew from the ship at 9 a.m.
this morning.
There was no Bullion carried on the ship none
of the cargo was stolen. The ship or tackle was not
damaged. None of the passengers or crew were injured by
the pirates (except the passenger who lost his life on
shore).
The pirates boasted that they had taken part in
other piracies; also that they would not have pirated
the Tean but for the fact that all their Capital of
from $5000.00 to $6000.00 had been spent in staging a
piracy that had not materialised.
The pirates landed immediately to the East of
