Your Despatch No. 224.
Senior Naval Officer and I have interviewed
Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Admiral Chan
Chak and General Teng and handed them memorandum in
Chinese embodying information in police report.
They promised to telegraph to military and naval
authorities in sense desired and are sending the
cruiser Chung Chan shortly to assist. They stated
there was no objection to cooperation of British
warships.
Please repeat to Commodore.
