With reference to Colonial Office letter
No. 52740/28 of the 13th instant regarding the
Hongkong office of the Chinese Telegraph Administration,
I am directed by Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain
to state that it appears to him desirable that
advantage should be taken of the opportunity afforded.
by the presence of His Majesty's Minister in South
China for direct discussion of the question between
him and the Governor of Hongkong.
