zation certificates:
Whereas application has been received from

"Provided I receive from the Chinese Government sanction
to do this, I undertake to observe the requirements of section
3 of the provisional regulations for the issue of donationali-
zation certificates which provides as follows: Chinese who
have obtained certificates of denationalization may only
carry on trade and purchase land in the treaty ports. Those
who already own land in the interior must sell it forthwith,
so as to avoid their being able to avail themselves of the
special privileges under the treatics with resultant compli-
cations.
I therefore request the issue of a donationalization
certificate".
This Bureau having investigated the matter and found the
facts as stated now issues this certificate to be retained
by the applicant as proof of his status.
