I have the honour to invite your attention
to Sir Cecil Clementi's despatch No. 299 bf and June, 1927, forwarding copies of a proposed Bill amending the fidows' and Orphans' Pension Ordinance, 1908, and to the
fact, reported in confidential despatch of 1st May, 1947, that all the pensions actually in being; have already been"
recalculated in accordance with the new 8% tables.

is the delay in substituting the new tables involves hardship to actual ensioners, I venture to request that I may receive your decision on the proposed Bill as soon as possible and that the decision may be
comicated by telegraph.
