Following from Canton, begins:-
Addressed to Peking No. 64 of 6th and Hongkong.
Your telegram No. 394.
I saw Wai Yuk............ today and suggested that Canton Government make formal request for removal
of office to Chinese territory. Hu........ then
used various arguments urging that Canton be given
control of office in Hongkong. On my making it
clear that the Governor would not consent to this he
finally said he would refer to General Lichaisum and
let me have an answer in a few days.
