DEACON S.
Solicitors & Notaries.
Sir,
Enclosure No. 5.
55
1, Des Voeux Road Central,
Hong Kong.
3rd September, 1927.
We have the honour to address you with
reference to the affairs of the Chinese Telegraphic Administration in this Colony.
The present Manager of the Chinese Telegraphic
Administration in Hong Kong is Mr. Lau Cheuk Pau.
The appointments to the manager ship in Hong Kong of this Administration are made by the Peking
Government from whom, of course, Mr. Lau Cheuk Pau holds
his appointment.
For various reasons which we need not go
into here, the Peking Government have decided to cancel Mr. Lau Cheuk Pau's appointment and have appointed in his place Mr. C. Y. Chen.
We have in our possession the Official document terminating Mr. Lau Cheuk Pau's appointment, the Official document appointing Mr. C. Y. Chen in his place and a further Official document authorising Hr. C. Y. Chen to go into Mr. Lau Cheuk Pau's accounts, all of which documents we believe already been placed before and scrutinised by the Hong Kong Government.
The Honourable
The Colonial Secretary,
Hong Kong.
Mr.
