Sir,

Whilst examining the available records of
triangulation over Hong Kong and the Leased Territories it is found that the following points arise and I have to request that information to clear up the points in question may be supplied at the earliest possible date.

In the list of Trig. Points taken from P.W.D. records showing Geographical and Rectangular Co-ordinates of the points in the system (presumably observed and computed by Mr. Reid), the following points are missing and their co-ordinates both Geographical and Rectangular are required
42. 46. 48. 52. 57. 59. 62. 70. 73. 76. 78. 79. 82. 84. 86. 88. 91. 93. 94. 95. 98. 100.
I would point out that all these numbered points are marked on the Triangulation diagram.
I enclose a copy of the above mentioned list for reference (marked A.).

The Geographical and Rectangular Co-ordinates given for Point No. 7 (Tai Mo Shan) are given in List A. as
Lat. N. 22° 24' 41.33" Long. E. 114° 07' 28.81"
48759.01 N.
7043.70 W.
Lieut. Wace states that the old beacon was destroyed and a new one constructed on a slightly different site. He states that he was given as a temporary value the following co-ordinates for this point
48762.24 N.
7038.22 W.
